Our History
Bob Peverley, a graduate of the Sir Sanford Fleming Forestry Technician Program, founded Logsmith in 1980. He originally constructed 10″ thick, hand adzed, dovetailed log buildings.
However, as time progressed, timber roof systems and porches become regular additions to his log shells. Hybrid structures, which are a combination of log and timber, soon followed. Clients began to seek Bob out for timber frame structures as often as log buildings. With the dry work space provided by the Logsmith shop, built in 1998, Bob began to move toward timber framing full time. Although his focus has shifted from log building, Bob’s reputation for quality materials and workmanship, as well as his attention to detail still remain.
Some of our notable commercial projects include: Highland Park Cemetery Visitor Centre (Peterborough, ON), Lanzarote Beach Club (Lanzarote, Canary Islands) and Camp Otterdale (Perth, ON)
